Trial bead piece – finished

I’ve completed the trial bead embroidery piece that I posted yesterday. I was thinking of doing a border around the edge, but I sort of like that it is irregular and not perfectly round. I’m looking forward to switching gears and starting to think of how I want to approach my first Bead Journal piece for January. I’ll be sure to post pictures as I go!

  1. Hi Carol. Great trial piece. With the few parameters we are given, it allows us to change as we go. I think the freedom here is part of the greatness of the project.

  2. Thanks, Robin! I definitely took my cues from your work, which I am fascinated by! I just love the whole idea of improvisational beading, essentially 'doodling' with beads. So fun!

  3. I totally agree with previous comments about your finished piece looking organic. It reminds me, in a way, of an oyster shell. It's a beautiful piece of work.

  4. I too love the organic look and the colors. I found a magnolia bud on the ground today that I brought home inspired to use for design and this reminds me of that. I enjoy your talent.

  5. Hi Carol! This is my first visit to your blog, and I must say, your work is absolutely beautiful. Gram would be so proud of you! Keep up the great work!
